According to Foden, his teammates affectionately dubbed him ‘The Sniper’ due to his tendency to take numerous shots in these training games.

The banter reached new heights when a sniper emblem mysteriously appeared on Foden’s locker at the training ground.

Embracing the humour, Foden decided to showcase the ‘Sniper’ celebration during his stellar performance against Brentford.

In his own words, Foden explained the origin of the celebration, stating, “It’s a bit of banter I have with the lads, they say I shoot a lot in the five-a-side games, they call me ‘The Sniper.’

So, I thought I had to pull it out today, even when I arrived at the training ground and there’s a sniper on my locker now.”

Foden’s remarkable goal-scoring form this season places him third in Manchester City’s top-scorer charts, having found the back of the net on 14 occasions.

Additionally, he shares the title of joint-leading assist provider alongside Julian Alvarez, underlining his growing influence in both scoring and creating opportunities for his team.
