Jamie Carragher ranks the greatest Premier League forwards and leaves out big names

The Premier League have been blessed with a lot of quality forwards, making it difficult for pundits and fans to pick the best of them.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is the latest pundit to reveal his greatest Premier League forwards and omitted a notable name.

Carragher ranked former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry as the Premier League’s best forward, followed by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, and Didier Drogba complete the first five.

Carragher ranked former Red Devils forward Wayne Rooney in sixth, Premier League record top-scorer Alan Shearer at seventh, Eden Hazard eighth, and Dennis Bergkamp and Gareth were ranked ninth and tenth, respectively.

Surprisingly, Manchester City’s top scorer, Sergio Agüero, did not make the list despite his exploits for the Citizens.

Though injury-prone, Agüero is regarded as one of the most clinical forwards to have graced the Premier League, scoring 184 goals in 275 games.

Only Shearer, Rooney, and Andrew Cole have scored more goals than the Argentine in Premier League history.

He enjoyed an illustrious career with Man City, winning 15 titles including five Premier League trophies.

His heroics in the 2011/2012 campaign, when he netted a last-gasp winner to help the Citizens win their first league title in 44 years, will live long in the memories of football fans.

Carragher will have reasons for snubbing Aguero, but most will not agree.
