Man United search for NEW shirt sponsor after current deal CUT SHORT

Premier League giants Manchester United are now on the hunt for a new shirt sponsor after their current deal with Teamviewer has been cut short.

Manchester United will end their £235m deal with German technology company TeamViewer after agreeing to buy back the rights to the deal.

Man United’s previous deal with American car manufacturer Chevrolet ended in the summer of 2021 which meant TeamViewer was to become their sponsor from the start of the 2021-22 season.

The German technology company already had ‘cold feet’ over the five-year agreement with the Red Devils and already decided not to renew it in 2026.

TeamViewer had lost a staggering 80% of its value after committing to a £47m a year deal with Man United.

The initial deal which was signed during the COVID-19 pandemic, saw Manchester United accept a £17m price reduction from the German tech company.

Investment firm Petrus Advisers, who are believed to have a 3 percent stake in TeamViewer, had claimed that the deal which is worth £235m was ‘a sign of appalling judgement.’

Furthermore, online giants Amazon are believed to be interested in bidding for the Manchester club but it will come at a cost due to United’s high asking price which is believed to be around £7bn.

The club, which is currently up for sale, are looking to get a deal in a more ‘normalised market’.

The Glazer family announced last month that they were interested in selling the football club and they have already started looking at potential bidders.

The Glazers have been in control of Manchester United for 17 years now and the relationship with the club hasn’t been special from a United fan’s standpoint.
