Manchester United have come to an agreement with Chelsea to secure Mason Mount, with the England midfielder given the green light for a medical at Old Trafford.
Mount has been at Stamford Bridge since 2017, and during his time in a Chelsea shirt has made 129 appearances and scored 27 goals.
He saw loan spells with Dutch side Vitesse between 2017/2018, and EFL Championship side Derby County between 2018/2019 – making 29 and 35 appearances respectively and totting up 7 goals whilst away from his home club.
Mount has also of course represented England’s first team since 2019, earning 36 caps for his country and producing 5 goals so far.
We reported at the start of June that Man Utd had agreed personal terms with Mason Mount, but a transfer fee was not at that point agreed with his current club.
Negotiations had seemed to come to a standstill, with Chelsea rejecting no less than 3 offers from United for Mount, and the Red Devils seemingly looking elsewhere for a midfielder.
Chelsea had initially stated that they would accept no less than £58 million plus £7 million in add-ons, although it is now reported that the two clubs have come to an agreement to make Mount’s move to Old Trafford official.
The 24-year-old will join Man Utd on a 5-year deal, with his transfer fee being reported as £55 million, which could add up to £60 million when add-ons are included.
