Joao Cancelo ‘avoids’ Man City badge in mark of respect for parent club

Manchester City produced one of their greatest peformances in the UEFA Champions League after drubbing Bayern Munich 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Rodri started off the scoring with a thunderbolt which curled perfectly into the top corner, giving Bayern goalkeeper Yann Sommer little chance to save it.

Bayern had a few close chances, with a low shot from Leroy Sane forcing a fantastic save from Ederson.

Manchester City showed their ruthlessness by doubling their lead after Erling Haaland played a beautiful ball into Bernardo Silva who guided his header into the roof of the net.

The game was wrapped up in the 76th minute when Erling Haaland sealed the victory for the Citizens who now go into the second leg at the Allianz Arena with a 3-0 lead.

Manchester City player Joao Cancelo who is on loan at Bayern Munich was subject to jeering from the City fans as he was given an unwelcoming return to his parent club.

But, before the game the Portugal international did show a mark of respect for his parent club.
