Man United to spend record money to land Benfica star & Harry Kane

It is no secret that Man United are looking to bolster out their attacking force in this Summer’s transfer window. Reports suggest that the Red Devils may be prepared to spend a new record to land an in-form Benfica star alongside Tottenham’s Harry Kane!

Erik ten Hag’s side have been looking for a solution to the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s shock exit early in the year, with Burnley loanee Wout Weghorst being their temporary fix. Weghorst has, however, only managed 2 goals from 27 appearances for the club.

This has for some time now made it clear to United chiefs that new talent needs to be brought in to assist their top scorer, Marcus Rashford, who currently has 29 goals to his name this season.

Man United have shown interest in Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos for a while now, and reports suggest that they could be willing to pay a record fee to sign the Portuguese striker. The 21 year old has 24 goals to his name so far this season and has been filling the gap left behind by Darwin Nunez’s move to Liverpool with great success.

Some of you may also remember that it was Ramos who replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal’s starting lineup against Switzerland in the 2022 World Cup and scored a hat-trick in the Last-16.

Despite Tottenham’s Harry Kane being Man United’s number one priority in the Summer window, it has been reported that an offer between £70-£100 million is ready to be discussed between the club and Benfica to land Ramos.

This could mean that their current record of £89.3 million for Paul Pogba’s return could be eclipsed by the new deal with Benfica.

If Man United do manage to secure both Ramos and Kane this Summer, the signings will certainly go a long way towards the bolstering their squad sorely needs. But, the club will have to go through painful negotiations with Daniel Levy if they are to finally pry the England Captain away from Tottenham’s grasp.
