Newcastle MISSING 5 players for important Brighton clash!

Newcastle United will be going into their Premier League matchup with Brighton & Hove Albion tonight missing 5 players through injury.

The clash with the Seagulls is an important one, with Liverpool’s late charge of 7 straight Premier League wins bridging a large chunk of the gap to Newcastle and Manchester United to contend for a top 4 finish.

The Toon have just Brighton, Leicester, and a struggling Chelsea left on their PL calendar. They are currently level on points with Manchester United (ahead on goal difference), with both teams just a single point ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

It is worth a mention, however, that Newcastle and Manchester United each have a game in hand over Liverpool, giving both teams the opportunity to take themselves more than a win’s worth ahead of Klopp’s side.

Newcastle and Manchester United are tied on points for 3rd place in the Premier League, with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool breathing down their necks just a point behind.

The Toon have their chance this evening against Brighton, with Erik ten Hag’s Man Utd travelling to Bournemouth on Saturday for theirs.

Unfortunately for Eddie Howe, his side will be going into tonight’s fixture against an invigorated Brighton with 5 players ruled out through injury. The Seagulls are also fresh off the back of a 3-0 whipping of title contenders Arsenal last weekend.

Those who have been definitely ruled out of the clash include midfielders Matt Ritchie and Sean Longstaff, as well as defenders Emil Krafth and Jamaal Lascelles. Winger Jacob Murphy is also a ‘doubt’ according to Howe, after dropping down to the bench at Elland Road due to a ‘sore groin’.

Saudi Newcastle ownership called for re-examination!

Newcastle have only lost 2 of their matches at home this season, which will no doubt give their supporters some comfort going into tonight’s fixture, but the travelling Brighton are sure to make it a hard night for them given the energy and tenacity they have displayed in recent matches!
