FA Cup set for MAJOR TV boost as BBC strike new deal with TNT Sports

The FA Cup will continue to be shown on terrestrial TV as the BBC have agreed a new deal with TNT Sports.

Reports from MailOnline suggest that the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have retained the rights for live FA Cup matches until 2029.

Rival sports broadcaster ITV is set to miss out on FA Cup action as TNT Sports will replace them starting from the 2025-26 season.

The BBC has been the home of the FA Cup for many years so this news will be a delight to many fans who simply cannot afford a TNT Sports subscription.

TNT Sports paid over £260m to secure the rights for the FA Cup in a four-year deal to become the main broadcaster.

The BBC have came out in second place securing the rights alongside TNT Sports, formely known as BT Sport.

With the new deal in place, the BBC will show TWO matches from each round of the FA Cup up to the quarter-finals.

They will also get coverage for one of the two semi-finals and the final itself and also retaining the Match of the Day highlights programme.
