Brazil legend Ronaldo SUBBED OFF by Sunday League side!

Brazilian legend Ronaldo made a surprise appearance for a Sunday League side referred to as ‘one of the worst teams in England’ – and was SUBBED OFF by them!

Phoenix FC, who are currently bottom of the NWL Division 8 in Essex, were 4-0 down when the legendary forward joined their ranks.

Despite kicking things off with a Rabona, Ronaldo ended up being caught offside, and on his phone in true Sunday League fashion before being subbed back off by Phoenix FC manager Brian Edwards.

Ronaldo was described as “anything but a super sub” by Edwards – who was unimpressed by the Brazilian’s performance.

Ronaldo de lima recently played for a sunday league team claimed to be one of the worst football teas in England!

“The lads couldn’t believe it when Ronaldo showed up – I hadn’t registered him so used the name ‘Dave Walsh’ and put him on the bench.” he said.

“He was late by the time he got changed and we were already well behind by the time I could put him on, but it’s definitely a moment I’ll remember forever.”

“The rest of his performance? Less memorable.”

It is worth mentioning that Ronaldo’s super sub appearance was all part of a scripted stunt for a social media video by Paddy Power.

The betting firm’s new feature ‘Super Sub’ allows bets to be transferred when a player is subbed off, with Ronaldo’s recent Sunday League antics all a part of the marketing.

Phoenix FC won a social media competition by the company, which allowed them the privilege of subbing on Brazilian football royalty – it’s just a shame it didn’t help their cause on the day!
