Anthony Taylor trending on Twitter after ‘WOEFUL’ refereeing in Galatasary match

English referee Anthony Taylor has been subject to huge criticism once again after a ‘woeful’ performance in the Sparta Prague v Galatasary match in the Europa League.

Before the match, Galatasary were in the driving seat after a 3-2 victory in the first leg but everything came crashing down in the 2nd leg for the Turkish side.

Sparta Prague won the 2nd leg 4-1 thanks to THREE late goals which ultimately cost the Turkish side a place in the Europa League last 16.

Of course, with any controversial match involving late goals, the referee is always the talking point.

Many fans went on to Twitter to make their feelings known on the referee tonight which is Manchester born Anthony Taylor.

Many fans accused him of having a vendetta against Galatasary due to the fact his ‘favourite team’ Manchester United getting knocked out by the Turkish side in the group stage.

It’s not the first time the British referee was subject to abuse, he refereed the Europa League final last season when manager at the time Jose Mourinho caught up with him after the game.

Last year we reported on the UEFA incident between Jose Mourinho and Anthony Taylor.
