Christopher Nkunku will become a Chelsea player in July after signing contract

After much speculation, it appears that Christopher Nkunku will be joining Chelsea next season.

The Blues have reportedly reached a full agreement with RB Leipzig to sign the 25-year-old France forward, with sources indicating that the deal is “100%” wrapped up despite no official announcement from the player or either club.

If rumours are true, Nkunku will become a Chelsea player on July 1st and the fee is a reported £56m for the France international.

Nkunku has been in fine form for RB Leipzig, managing 17 goals and five assists as a regular starter across all competitions despite missing the World Cup due to a torn knee ligament.

Last season, he enjoyed his most prolific campaign yet, notching 35 goals and 20 assists in 52 appearances, which put him on the radar of the world’s top clubs.

Chelsea have been linked with Nkunku for some time now, particularly since the mega-money takeover by Todd Boehly.

However, they were forced to delay his signing until the summer of 2023. This deal will undoubtedly strengthen Chelsea’s already impressive attacking line-up.

It remains to be seen what role Nkunku will play in Chelsea’s team, but his versatility will undoubtedly be an asset. He is capable of playing in a variety of attacking positions, including as a central striker, a winger, or an attacking midfielder.

His pace, dribbling ability, and eye for goal will make him a valuable addition to the squad, and his experience in the Champions League will be invaluable as Chelsea looks to challenge for the title once again.

In January, Graham Potter’s side moved to add forward Joao Felix on loan, indicating that they are also looking to strengthen their attacking options. However, it appears that Chelsea has won the race to sign Nkunku, who will undoubtedly be a key player for them in the years to come.

While an official announcement is yet to be made, sources indicate that the deal is “100%” wrapped up, so fans can look forward to seeing Nkunku in action for Chelsea next season.
