Jurgen Klopp ‘happy’ for Marcus Rashford and weighs up United’s title chances

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Manchester United‘s recent form, calling them a “results machine” ahead of their clash on Sunday. While acknowledging the danger posed by Marcus Rashford, Klopp also highlighted the threat of other United players, including Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Wout Weghorst.

Despite trailing United by 10 points in the league, Klopp acknowledged that United are “fully in a fight” to win the title and have been able to get results even when not playing at their best.

Klopp also praised Rashford, who has been in excellent form this season after struggling with injuries last year. He described Rashford as a versatile player with a mix of speed, technique, and composure in front of goal.

Liverpool will host United at Anfield on Sunday in what promises to be a highly anticipated match. While Liverpool will be looking to close the gap on United and Arsenal at the top of the table, United will be hoping to extend their lead and maintain their impressive form.

“I really like [Bruno] Fernandes. His movement is really smart. I like the way he shows up, all of a sudden he is there,” he said.

“Casemiro is also linking up with Fred alongside him. The man-marking way they defend makes it really physical.

“They also have the counter-attacks and the other winger, whoever that may be – [Jadon] Sancho – and up front, the Dutch fella [Wout Weghorst] is really physical, so it is a good set-up.”

“They are squeezing results out with some really good performances. Top football, and if it is not going so well they still get results,” he said.

“It is obviously not a team built up for the next 20 years because of the players they have signed.

“It is for now – but now they are really good.”
