Saudi Pro League: Al-Hilal break WORLD RECORD with 2-0 win!

Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have broken a world record with a recent 2-0 victory over Al-Ittihad in the Asian Champions League.

Al-Hilal are the Saudi Pro League’s (SPL) most decorated side since its inception, with signings such as Neymar Jr, Aleksander Mitrovic, and Ruben Neves contributing to their success.

The SPL also saw an influx of high-profile players join the ranks of its other teams last year as the League looked to solidify its viewership.

It is Al-Hilal, however, who have truly made their mark on the League, which was founded in 2008.

Al-Hilal signed high profile stars such as Neymar, Rube Neves and Aleksander Mitrovic last season to the Saudi Pro League.

The side have won the title 8 times since then, with their fiercest and closest rivals being Al-Ittihad, whom they achieved a 2-0 victory over on Tuesday the 12th of March – helping them break a world record in the process.

This victory was the 28th in a row for Al-Hilal, surpassing the 27 straight win record of Welsh side The New Saints which was set back in 2016.

No other professional club on earth has ever achieved so many straight victories, adding an additional badge of honour to the arms of their squad.

The side are also 12 points clear of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, with just 11 match days left in the League this season.

Al-Hilal are currently managed by former Flamengo and Benfica chief Jorge Jesus, with their 28-game winning streak consisting of 16 League wins, 3 Domestic cup wins, and 9 Asian Champions League victories.

Former Benfica manager Jorge Jesus currently manages Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

The side’s next matchup will be against Damac on Saturday the 16th of March in a Saudi Pro League matchup, as Jorge Jesus and his side look to take their tally to 29 victories in a row!
