21 years to the day, Claudio Ranieri’s Chelsea gave Gérard Houllier’s Liverpool a 4-0 thrashing at Stamford Bridge.

Graeme Le Saux set the tone just 3 minutes into the game by sending the Blues 1-0 up, followed up by a Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink contribution at the 28 minute mark to send them into half time with a comfortable lead.

Samuele Dalla Bona added another with 20 minutes to spare, and Eidur Gudjohnsen hammered the final nail into Liverpool’s coffin on the 90 minute mark.

All in all, not a day Liverpool fans will remember fondly.
