Wout Weghorst: Erik ten Hag praises forward but admits he sometimes ‘fails’

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has praised striker Wout Weghorst for his dedication and hard work, following his second goal for the Red Devils against Real Betis on Thursday. However, the manager also admitted that the Dutchman has a tendency to falter.

As United prepare to face Southampton in their upcoming Premier League match at Old Trafford, Ten Hag explained that Weghorst frequently positions himself advantageously but struggles to execute the final action.

The 30-year-old, who was signed on loan from Burnley in January, has been given ample game time due to the absence of Anthony Martial, who is injured.

Ten Hag emphasized that Weghorst’s positional awareness and intelligence make him an important asset to the club’s forward line.

Despite his tendency to fail, Ten Hag is confident that Weghorst’s commitment and application will continue to be valuable to the team.

As United look to recover from their 7-0 defeat against Liverpool, the manager believes that Weghorst’s contributions will be crucial in securing a positive result against Southampton.

Can Wout Weghorst prove to the manager he is good enough to stay at the club? Let us know!
