Wout Weghorst’s attempt to explain his action of touching the “This is Anfield” sign did not sit well with numerous Manchester United fans.
The 30-year-old striker who Is currently on loan from Burnley has struggled during his time at Manchester United so far, only scoring 1 goal in all competitions.

Wout Weghorst stated that he was attempting to provoke and ‘wind up’ his national teammate Virgil van Dijk, but this explanation was met with criticism from supporters of the Red Devils.
Of course, Twitter has reacted to this, some in defence of the striker, others not so much.
