Were Man City ‘robbed’ of a win against Chelsea after late VAR handball review?

Manchester City came from behind to snatch a point against Chelsea at the Etihad.

Chelsea took the lead through former City player Raheem Sterling who came back to haunt the club he spent 7 years at.

Man City were caught on the counter several times throughout the match and really struggled to get into the flow.

In the 83rd minute, up stepped Rodri who pelted the ball towards the goal which resulted in a deflection and then into the back of the net.

In the dying embers of the match, the Citizens were pushing hard to snatch a late winner but as the ball came into the box, Chelsea defender Levi Colwill and City centre-back Ruben Dias both went for the ball.

Manchester City players erupted in anger as referee Andy Madley, prompted by furious shouts, turned to VAR to review a contentious incident.

The big question lies, were Man City robbed of a win against Chelsea?

Despite the clear contact between defender Colwill’s arm and the ball, the referee ultimately chose to overlook the incident, leaving Man City fans and players frustrated.
