Nicolas Pepe joins Turkish side Trabzonspor on a FREE transfer

Nicolas Pepe has moved to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor on a free transfer, marking the conclusion of a somewhat underwhelming three-year stint at the Emirates.

Arsenal made a substantial £72 million investment to acquire the services of the Ivory Coast winger from Lille back in 2019.

During his tenure with Arsenal, Pepe managed to find the back of the net 27 times in 112 appearances. Last season, he embarked on a loan spell with the French club, Nice.

Despite being just 28 years old, Pepe didn’t feature in any of the club’s matchday squads this season.

Notably, Pepe’s time as Arsenal’s record signing came to an end with the arrival of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, who commanded a fee of £100 million earlier this summer.

Currently positioned at seventh in the Turkish Super Lig, Trabzonspor secured Pepe’s services.

In a video shared on the club’s official Twitter account, Pepe conveyed his aspirations, stating, “I have come here with the ambition to become a champion and achieve remarkable success.”
