Fresh assault claims have been made against Antony in Brazilian media

Manchester United’s Antony is under scrutiny once again, this time facing allegations of assault from a woman in an interview with a Brazilian TV channel.

These fresh claims come in the wake of an ongoing police investigation into allegations of domestic abuse made by his former girlfriend.

On Monday, Brazilian news outlet UOL published allegations made by Antony’s ex-partner, adding another layer to the ongoing investigation.

Sao Paulo Police are currently looking into these claims, which Antony vehemently denies.

In a recent clip released by Brazil’s Record TV, Ingrid Lana, a 33-year-old banker, alleges that she suffered head injuries when Antony pushed her against a wall at his Manchester residence in October 2022.

The complete interview with Lana is expected to be released in Brazil over the weekend.

Manchester United has expressed seriousness regarding the allegations made on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian national team has dropped Antony from their squad, citing the need for an investigation following the public disclosure of these allegations.

As for Manchester United, there has been no official comment on the latest claims or clarification on Antony’s selection for their upcoming fixture against Brighton on Saturday, September 16.

It’s worth noting that Antony had previously been accused of attacking his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, with a headbutt in a Manchester hotel room on January 15, resulting in injuries requiring medical attention.

Antony had consistently maintained his innocence in response to these allegations, stating that the evidence would vindicate him.
