Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge wasn’t just a tough day for the Blues, but an especially rough one for Marc Cucurella.
The Spanish left-back, who had confidently declared that Erling Haaland was “scared because Cucurella is coming” after Spain’s Euro 2024 win over England, was in for a reality check.
Marc Cucurella has gained a lot of haters since his antics after the Euro 2024 victory over England but the Chelsea defender will have to get used to being public enemy number one especially playing in front of the majority of England fans.
Haaland, far from intimidated, scored and physically dominated Cucurella during the match. In one notable moment, Cucurella was on the ground screaming asking for help, while the Norwegian striker simply walked past him without a glance.

When Cucurella was eventually subbed off, Man City fans didn’t miss their chance. They gave him a frosty reception, reminding him that sometimes, it’s best to let your football do the talking.
