PSG agree deal with Bayern Munich’s Lucas Hernandez

PSG have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich’s Lucas Hernandez, as per reports by French newspaper L’Équipe.

The French defender had been rumoured as putting negotiations with German giants Munich on hold, with PSG on the hunt for a left-footed defender as a result of uncertainty around Presnel Kimpembe’s future with the club.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are themselves pursuing Hernandez’s fellow countryman, Adrian Rabot, who currently plays his football in Serie A with Juventus.

According to the report by L’Équipe, an agreement in principle has been made between Hernandez’s agent and PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos. They have also mentioned that Bayern Munich are aware of the situation.

Bayern’s own Sporting Director, Hasan Salihamidžić, has said that he would be prepared to offer a new 3-year deal to Hernandez in order to keep the French World Cup winner at the Allianz. Reports suggest, however, that he is swaying towards a move to the Parisian giants instead.

It is said that Hernandez’s versatility at the back is what drew PSG to pursuing him, with the Frenchman proving himself as a centre back in 3-man defence, as well as in his more native position of left-back.

Now that personal terms have been agreed, all that stands in the way of PSG brining Hernandez to Le Parc des Princes is agreeing a transfer fee with Bayern Munich.
