Manchester United planning moves for African duo in the summer

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is planning to strengthen his squad with at least two significant signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Dutchman is reportedly eyeing Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and Ajax’s Ghanaian attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus as potential targets.

Osimhen has been in fine form for Napoli since joining the club from Lille in 2020. The 24-year-old has scored 43 goals in 71 appearances since joining, and his pace and power could be a valuable addition to United’s attacking options.

Mohammed Kudus has also impressed for Ajax since joining from Danish side Nordsjælland in 2020. The 22-year-old has shown great technical ability and creativity, and his versatility could be an asset to the Red Devils.

However, United’s interest in Osimhen may face competition from other top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Chelsea, who are also said to be monitoring the striker’s progress.

In addition to Osimhen and Kudus, ten Hag is also reportedly keen on Benfica’s Portugal marksman Goncalo Ramos.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for Benfica, scoring 13 goals in 18 appearances this season in Primeira Liga.

Ten Hag’s interest in these young, talented players suggests that he is looking to build a team for the long term, rather than just making short-term fixes.

However, United’s long-standing admiration for Tottenham’s talisman Harry Kane cannot be ignored. The English striker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time, and it remains to be seen if United will make a serious bid for him in the summer.

Whether they will succeed in signing Osimhen, Kudus, Ramos, Kane, or any other targets remains to be seen, but with ten Hag at the helm, United fans can be assured that the club is moving in the right direction.
