Man Utd offer Dean Henderson to Spurs in swap deal for Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson as a possible replacement for Hugo Lloris.

According to sources at ESPN, Spurs are considering the 26-year-old shot-stopper along with Everton’s Jordan Pickford as potential targets in the summer transfer window.

Henderson is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest until the end of the season and is set for talks with United about his future. While he has a contract at Old Trafford until 2025 with the option of another year, the goalkeeper is keen to play regular football to increase his chances of securing a place in the England squad ahead of the Euros in 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.

United refused to include the option of a permanent transfer in Henderson’s loan agreement with Forest last summer, leaving his future uncertain. The club’s interest in signing a new goalkeeper this summer, with Brentford’s David Raya and Porto’s Diogo Costa among their targets, adds to the speculation around Henderson’s potential departure.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s interest in Henderson could also have implications for the future of star striker Harry Kane.

ESPN sources suggest that Kane is on United’s list of transfer targets, but any deal with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would be complicated and could drag on until late in the window.

However, Spurs’ pursuit of Henderson could encourage Levy to be more open to negotiations over a deal for Kane. The England captain’s asking price is reportedly over £100 million, but if United can secure a reliable replacement for Lloris, they may be more willing to meet the demands.

United are also in contract talks with current first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea, whose current deal is set to expire in June. The club is keen to agree on a reduced basic wage with significant bonuses based on the number of appearances made by the Spaniard.

Overall, the summer transfer window promises to be an interesting one for both Tottenham and Manchester United, with potential moves for Henderson, Kane, and other key players likely to dominate the headlines.

As negotiations continue, fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on their favourite clubs’ plans for the upcoming season.
