Manchester City welcomed bitter local rivals Manchester United to the Academy Stadium yesterday in a Premier League 2 clash.
City didn’t take long to grab their first goal of the match, it came in the 8th minute from Hamilton, and many more goals were to come.
The score finished 6-0 to Man City but something unusual happened which many fans spotted, former Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone came on the pitch to play.
Huddlestone is now 36 years old but he was allowed to play against Man City, even though it was an under-21 match.
The reason he was allowed to play is that alongside his coaching role at the club, Huddlestone is 1 of 5 over-aged players the club is allowed to play.
Having been totally outplayed in the opening half an hour & also had a player sent off, Utd brought on 36 year old Tom Huddlestone in the u21s game & played a total defensive formation to try to stem the flow of goals. It didn’t work!

The United coach and part-time player also featured for United U21’s in the Papa John’s trophy earlier last year.
The result sends Manchester City to the top of Premier League 2 on 44 points, just one point above Chelsea.
