Manchester City will not use their normal corner flags against Arsenal

Manchester City fans will have the opportunity to relive some of the club’s most iconic moments and celebrate its legendary players during the top-of-the-table clash with Arsenal on Wednesday 26 April.

In a one-off change, images of past City players will adorn the Etihad Stadium corner flags.

This unique initiative was the result of an online poll conducted by the club’s partner, Socios.com. The platform asked $CITY Fan Token holders to vote for their favourite designs, with four winning designs chosen that feature key figures from City’s history and an iconic goal moment.

The winning quartet included Sergio Aguero, Colin Bell, Vincent Kompany, and the goal that made history back in 2012, Sergio Aguero’s 93:20.

The chosen designs will replace the traditional corner flags for this game, giving fans a chance to reminisce about some of the club’s most unforgettable moments.

What’s particularly exciting about this initiative is that Socios.com also randomly selected a number of lucky token holders who voted for the winning design and invited them to the game to see the corner flags.

This adds an extra level of excitement and engagement for the fans, who have the opportunity to see their choices come to life in a tangible way.

This move is not only a celebration of Manchester City’s rich history but also a testament to the club’s commitment to fan engagement.

By involving fans in the decision-making process, the club is able to create a more inclusive and interactive experience for supporters.

It also demonstrates the potential of blockchain technology and fan tokens to revolutionize fan engagement in sports.
