André Onana could be a Manchester United goalkeeper by TONIGHT!

Inter Milan shot-stopper André Onana could reportedly become a Manchester United player by the end of tonight, with a verbal agreement reached yesterday evening.

With David De Gea’s future at Manchester United still uncertain, and contract extension talks at a standstill, the Red Devils have reportedly made a verbal agreement with Inter Milan’s Onana.

The club first took interest in Onana a couple of months back, with Erik ten Hag keeping options in his sights incase things went awry with De Gea’s negotiations, but were initially worried that Inter Milan’s valuation of their No1 wouldn’t line up with their own.

The Cameroon national has had a fine season with Inter, helping the club earn 3rd place in the Serie A 2022/2023 season, and reaching the Champions League Final – where they narrowly lost out 1-0 to treble-winning Man City.

How much will United pay for Onana?

According to recent reports, Manchester United and Inter Milan are closing in on a deal with a fee of around £40 million for Onana, with 2 options being presented to the goalkeeper.

These are said to be a 4-year deal, with the option of an additional 12 months in Man United’s favour, or a straight-shooting 5-year deal at Old Trafford.

It has been said that a verbal agreement was made between Onana and Manchester United yesterday evening, with a transfer fee, plus personal and add-on terms left to be negotiated.

This could mean that by the end of this evening, André Onana will officially become a Manchester United man going into the 2023/2024 Premier League season, making David De Gea’s exit all the more likely.

The club are also reported to be keeping talks open with Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow in case their move for Onana fell through, but it looks likely that the 27-year-old will put pen to paper at Old Trafford imminently.
