Athletic Club President Jon Uriarte has expressed his desire to keep Euro 2024 star Nico Williams beyond this summer amid the winger link with a move to Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Spanish winger enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Bilbao last season, scoring seven goals and providing 19 assists across all competitions.
He helped the Basque-based club end their 40-year wait for a major title, having helped them win the Copa Del Rey last season, notching seven goal involvements in the competition including an assist in the final against RCD Mallorca.
The 21-year-old has also continued his brilliant form with the Spanish national team in the 2024 European Championship, being one of the standout out performers,
As a result of his performances, La Liga giants Barcelona, as well as Premier League outfits Chelsea and Arsenal have him on their radar but Athletic are ready to keep their star forward.
In quotes relayed by Fabrizio Romano, the club President said:
“We have a top project with no limit and we’re able to keep top players like Nico Williams at the club”.
“There are too many questions always asked to Nico on his future as the Federation has not been able to protect him. We ask for respect”.

Williams is expected to play a starring role when Spain take on England in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday at the Olympiastadion Berlin.
