Rayane Messi and not Lionel Messi is on the verge of joining RC Strasbourg, which is owned by Chelsea owners BlueCo.
The 17-year-old will be joining the Ligue 1 side from Dijon where he made his breakthrough last season and set two records at the club.
Having made his senior debut for Dijon against Versailles in April, he became the youngest player to make his debut for the French outfit.
Messi would score a week later against Orléans to become the youngest goalscorer in the history of Dijon at 16 years and 10 months old.
The talented forward made four appearances for Dijon and has now decided to take another step in his career by joining Strasbourg.
The French side have signed 10 players this summer including Caleb Wiley from their sister club Chelsea, but five of them will join the B side while the others will represent the first team.
Due to his inexperience, it won’t be surprising to see Messi play both at the youth and senior levels as he continues his career progression.
Strasbourg are heading into the campaign under a new manager in Liam Rosenior and they will kick off their campaign in the Ligue 1 against Montpellier at the Stade de la Mosson on Sunday.
