Turkish football team Beşkitaş have let one of their squad go because he had a profile on a dating app!
The club, who are currently 4th in the Turkish Süper Lig, fired their 21-year-old squad member simply for having a profile on a popular dating app.
Emirhan Delibaş, a Turkish national who has represented his country at U19 level, was found to have an active profile on Bumble.
Whereas many would not deem this unusual for a 21-year-old, the club have terminated his contract as a result of the recent revelation.
The winger has denied that the profile was his, claiming that it was a fake account, reportedly ended the contract via mutual agreement with the club.
A Beşkitaş club statement read “We have parted ways with professional football player Emirhan Delibas by mutual agreement. We wish him success in his future career.”
Delibaş had only enjoyed 2 senior appearances for Beşkitaş before his viral dating app profile nightmare, and will have no more opportunities to add to that.
There has been no report as to where his future within the sport lies, but one thing is for certain, it is not with Beşkitaş.
