Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool stars ranked in Premier League most wasteful players

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and Arsenal’s Kai Havertz have been ranked among the Premier League worst finishers in the Premier League this season.

Fernandes is yet to record a goal this term but should have found the target at least once but has been hampered by his wastefulness.

He has attempted 18 shots on goal without scoring, which is the highest in the division, and it is no surprise that he has underperformed his expected goals by 1.9, which is the third highest.

Jota has found the back of the net twice this term but could have been more- he wasted a glorious opportunity to double the lead in the Reds’ slim victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Portugal international should have added one more goal to his tally, as he is said to have underperformed his expected goals by 1.3.

Havertz has been in a rich vein of form recently for Arsenal, but there is evidence to show that he should have scored more for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The German forward has four goals to his credit so far, but it could have been more if he had been more composed in front of goal as he has underperformed his expected goals by 1.5.

Fulham electric winger Adama Traoré has been the most wasteful player this season – he has underperformed his expected goals by 2.2.

Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke is the second most wasteful player. He should have added to his two-goal tally, having returned an xG underperformance of 2.

Crystal Palace Eberechi Eze(1.7), Brighton & Hove Albion forward Kaoru Mitoma(1.5), West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus(1.5), Bournemouth summer arrival Evanilson(1.4) and his teammate Marcus Tavernier(1.4) complete the top 10.
