Man City set to broadcast Champions League Final at Depot Mayfield

Manchester City are set to bring the excitement of the UEFA Champions League final back home for their loyal supporters who are unable to make the trip to Istanbul.

Pep Guardiola’s side has a busy schedule ahead, with the FA Cup final against Manchester United followed by the European showpiece against Inter Milan a week later.

With limited tickets available for the final in Turkey, City has taken the initiative to broadcast the match in Manchester’s city centre.

The Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, the venue for the Champions League final, has allocated just under 20,000 tickets for Manchester City fans.

However, this number falls short of the demand from the passionate City faithful.

In order to ensure that supporters don’t miss out on this historic occasion, the club has decided to screen the match at Depot Mayfield, a popular venue with a capacity of 6,000.

The choice of Depot Mayfield as the venue for the screening was influenced by the fact that the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City’s home ground, will be hosting a concert by R&B star The Weeknd on the same night.

Given the prior engagement, it was not possible to use the City Football Academy, located across the road from the Etihad Stadium, as they did for the screening of the 2021 Champions League final, which City lost to Chelsea.
