Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur OUT for season with knee injury

Spurs midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury in Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat by Leicester City.

Spurs said Bentancur had “ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee”.

The 25-year-old suffered the problem during the game at the King Power on Saturday and had to leave the pitch in the 65th minute.

“The midfielder will undergo surgery before beginning his rehabilitation with our medical staff,” said Tottenham

This is not the news Spurs needed after already suffering injury blows including the absence of captain Hugo Lloris who also suffered a knee injury.

Tottenham now travel to San Siro on Tuesday to face 7 times winners, AC Milan in what will be a hugely significant game in Spurs’ season.
