Roy Hodgson has been SACKED by Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are set to formally announce the sacking of 76-year-old Roy Hodgson.

Crystal Palace have terminated the contract of manager Roy Hodgson, who spent 379 days at the club during his second stint. Official press release to come.

The veteran former England manager was due to attend a press conference ahead of Palace’s match against Everton on Monday but the 76-year-old was ”Taken ill’ in training before.

Hodgson, 76, previously enjoyed a four-year stint with the Eagles at Selhurst Park before departing in 2021.

Despite returning to the club in 2023, his tenure has come to an end following a dismal 6-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.

They also lost at home to Chelsea after former player Conor Gallagher scored a late winner against his old club.

The decision to sack Hodgson comes after a brief second stint with the club, fuelled by inconsistent performances.

The fans were starting to turn on the manager and the board due to the ‘negative’ football the team were playing despite having an array of attacking talent.
