Brentford star Ivan Toney has agreed a three-year deal with Saudi Pro-League side Al-Alhli to cast doubts on Chelsea’s late move for him to succeed.
As reported by talkSport, the England international has accepted a £50 million offer from Al-Alhi which is way more than he earns at Brentford.
According to Capology, the 28-year-old is currently on £1,040,000m per year salary, a tiny amount to what Al-Ahli is offering him.
Besides, the Saudi Pro-League club, Chelsea are also in the running for his signature as the club want to sign a proven striker before Friday’s deadline of this summer’s transfer window.
As revealed by Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea are attracted by the prospect of signing Toney because of his Premier League experience, his relatively low wages and the fact that he has one year left on his contract with Brentford.
The Blues will only sanction a deal for the English forward if the fee is right and he doesn’t demand excessive wages.
Toney hasn’t hidden his intention to leave the Bees and has missed the opening two Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace and Liverpool respectively.
The West London club have also made preparations for his departure by signing Brazilian striker Igo Thiago who unfortunately got injured during pre-season.
