Napoli President to call off discussion with Chelsea for Osimhen-Lukaku if this happens

As reported by Simon Phillips in his substack via The Chelsea Chronicle, Chelsea risk missing out on Victor Osimhen if they violate the condition Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis laid down.

The Blues’ interest in Osimhen predates this transfer window. They had been credited with an interest in him last summer but couldn’t engineer a deal with Napoli due to his hefty valuation and had to settle for Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson scored 17 goals across all competitions last term and missed a litany of chances, which has led to Chelsea being back in the market for a proven striker.

They have been linked once again with Osimhen this summer but his price tag has been prohibitive and the Premier League side were reported to have shifted their focus on getting younger and cheaper talents like Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion.

More so, they have already moved on flop striker Romelu Lukaku who wants to reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli and are back in discussion with the Serie A side for Osimhen.

However, this discussion would only be fruitful if Chelsea don’t contact the representatives of the Nigerian striker on moving to Stamford Bridge, which is the condition given by de Laurentiis.

There have been reports in the English media that the Blues are ready to sign Osimhen on a season long-loan with Lukaku moving to Napoli but his agent, Robert Calenda, has now debunked that report.
