Chelsea Football Club bids farewell to one of its stalwarts as defender Thiago Silva announces his departure at the end of the season.

The Brazilian, who arrived on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain in 2020, leaves behind an indelible mark after 151 appearances with the Blues.

Silva’s tenure at Chelsea has been marked by triumphs, including clinching the prestigious Champions League trophy in the 2020-21 season.

His leadership and defensive prowess have been instrumental in securing three major trophies during his stay.

Expressing his deep affection for the club, Silva described his bond with Chelsea as “indescribable.”

Despite initially planning for a one-year stint, his association extended to four fruitful years, where he became a revered figure among fans and teammates alike.

Having played under the management of Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Mauricio Pochettino, Silva’s adaptability and experience have been invaluable assets to the team’s success.

With 25 starts in the fiercely competitive Premier League, Silva has remained a pillar of stability in Chelsea’s defensive line.

While bidding adieu to Stamford Bridge, Silva expressed his desire to maintain ties with the club, aspiring to return in a different capacity in the future.

“Once a Blue, always a Blue,” he remarked, encapsulating the profound connection he shares with Chelsea.
