Real Madrid considering move for Liverpool star Roberto Firmino

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool star Roberto Firmino at the end of the season, according to Spanish publication El Nacional.

The Brazilian, who has been a key player for Liverpool since joining in 2015, will leave the club this summer after turning down a new contract.

Firmino has made 359 appearances for the Reds, scoring 109 goals and winning multiple trophies under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.

He has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success over the years, forming a lethal front three with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

However, with the addition of new signings like Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo, Firmino’s opportunities have been limited this season. Despite this, he is still Liverpool’s second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals.

Real Madrid, who are always in the market for top-quality players, could be an ideal destination for Firmino.

El Nacional reports that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is aware of Firmino’s situation and could look to convince the Brazilian to make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s current striker Karim Benzema’s deal is also up this summer, but it is widely believed that he has already agreed to a new contract with the club.

This means that Firmino could be used as a backup to the Frenchman, who has been in outstanding form this season.

His work rate, technical ability, and eye for goal would also make him a valuable addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

El Nacional also reports that there are not many strikers available on the market who could fit Real Madrid’s requirements, as they are either too expensive or not trusted by the club.

It remains to be seen whether Firmino will indeed make the move to Real Madrid, but it is clear that the Brazilian is a highly sought-after player in the current transfer market.

Wherever he ends up, there is no doubt that he will continue to be a force to be reckoned with on the pitch.
