Real Madrid started the game on the back foot, with Barcelona dominating the first half.

However, it was Real Madrid who took the lead in first-half injury time, as Vinicius Jr exchanged passes with Benzema before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

The Galacticos started the second half strongly, and five minutes after the break, they took the lead on aggregate.

Luka Modric played a clever through ball into the path of Benzema, who finished calmly from the edge of the area.

Barcelona’s hopes of a comeback were dealt a blow when Franck Kessie brought down Vinicius in the box, and Benzema stepped up to convert the penalty to make it 3-0 on aggregate.

Benzema completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute, finishing off a swift counter-attack led by Vinicius to seal a 4-0 win on the night and a 4-1 victory on aggregate.

This was Benzema’s second hat-trick in as many games, having also scored three against Real Valladolid last Sunday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will face Osasuna in the final on 6 May, as they look to add to their record 19 Copa del Rey titles.

This was a memorable night for Madrid fans, as they saw their team dominate their rivals in the second half and secure a place in the final with a resounding victory.

Real Madrid will face Chelsea in their upcoming Champions League quarter-final.
