Sir Alex Ferguson Returns to Old Trafford Despite Health Issues as Man United Put on a Show
There are some people who simply cannot stay away from football.
And Sir Alex Ferguson is one of them.
The Manchester United legend returned to Old Trafford on Sunday to watch his beloved club take on Ipswich Town, despite his recent health issues.
The 84-year-old was spotted arriving at the stadium wearing a protective boot on his left leg and using a walking stick for support. He was helped out of his car before making his way into the stadium.
You could see that he wasn’t exactly comfortable.
But nothing was going to stop him from being there.

Ferguson remains one of the most important figures in Manchester United’s history.
During his incredible 26-year spell in charge, he won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies.
Even after retiring in 2013, his connection with the club has never gone away.
So seeing him back at Old Trafford, battling through the discomfort just to watch United, was a reminder of what the club means to him.
And thankfully, the players gave him something to smile about.

It wasn’t exactly the comfortable afternoon United fans were hoping for.
After last week’s disappointing defeat to Hull City, the pressure was already on Michael Carrick’s side to respond.
Instead, Ipswich stunned Old Trafford when Leif Davis put the visitors ahead in the 29th minute.
For a moment, the nerves were back.
Then Bruno Fernandes stepped up.
The United captain equalised just before half-time before the Red Devils completely took control after the break.
Fernandes scored again from the penalty spot in the 61st minute and completed his hat-trick seven minutes later.
An own goal from Jacob Greaves and a Bryan Mbeumo strike completed a brilliant comeback, with Ipswich scoring a late consolation through Chuba Akpom.
Manchester United 5-2 Ipswich.
Seven goals.
Three from Bruno.
And three points finally on the board.
