Erling Haaland clashes with Gabriel Magalhaes after 0-0 flop

Erling Haaland got up close and personal with Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes after this afternoon’s 0-0 draw at the Etihad.

Arguably the most anticipated game of Matchweek 30 of the 2023/2024 Premier League campaign was something of an anti-climax for spectators, with the match ending 0-0 and seeing a mere 2 shots on target.

Despite dominating 72% of the possession, Man City could not find a way through their guests at the Etihad, with Erling Haaland coming under fire for a lacklustre performance that saw him miss several crucial chances.

Discussing the match afterwards, pundit Roy Keane even compared the Norwegian’s level of play to that of a League Two player.

Keane said “In terms of in front of goal he’s the best in the world, but for his general play for such a player, it is so poor. Not just today, I think he has to improve that, he’s almost like a League Two player, thats how I look at him”

Micah Richards highlighted that City’s goal scoring machine fails to utilise his size to hold up the ball in games as they discussed the home side’s performance against the Gunners.

It would appear that the pressure of Haaland’s drab performance got the better of him at the end of the match, when he could be seen being separated from Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes after the full time whistle.

Pep Guardiola can be seen getting between the pair who are in the middle of a fiery altercation.

Today’s draw between Man City and Arsenal allowed Liverpool to take the lead in the race for the Premier League title, overcoming Brighton 2-1 at Anfield to go 2 points clear at the top.
