West Brom could be set for new owners by early 2024 according to multiple sources that have stated that an unknown figure was spotted sitting in the directors box at the Hawthorns along with club director Xu Ke.
According to the former BBC presenter Adrian Goldberg the man was sports lawyer David Hinchcliffe who is known throughout football for his role in many takeovers over the years.
Current West Brom owner Lai Guochuan bought the club in 2016 for a fee said to be around £200m from then owner Jeremey Peace and at first all looked well in the early stages of his ownership with the club finishing 10th in the Premier League that season and had a great relationship with the fans as well.
There has been talk of numerous bidders all in the frame of a takeover but only 1 unnamed buyer is in the frame to complete a deal with many of the of the bidders being described as just “tyre kickers” or while some have also been called flakey.
After months of talk of a possible takeover of the club this news will be good news for the fans and many associated with West Brom but…. could new owners mean a new brighter chapter in the clubs history as the wait for a return to top flight football still lingers.
Will West Brom fans be seeing new owners walk into the club by the new year or will it be a long process that could very much so fall apart before its began?.
