Sheffield United BREAK Wrexham’s hearts at the death

It was sheer agony for Wrexham AFC as they battled until the death in their FA Cup 4th round replay.

They painfully conceded at the death after a late goal from John Egan in stoppage time in the first game at the Racecourse Ground.

But tonight, Sheffield United took the lead thanks to a finish from Anel Ahmedhodzic but an equaliser was soon on the cards.

Phil Parkinson’s men were awarded a penalty which was converted by striker Paul Mullin.

Wrexham were hanging on for the duration of the match but after they attacked in the 93rd minute, they left themselves vulnerable to a counter-attack which meant Billy Sharp was able to expertly finish in the right-hand corner.

Furthermore, the pain for Wrexham worsened after Sander Berge ultimately sealed their fate in the 96′ minute rewarding Sheffield United with a glamour tie against Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspur.

Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds said he was ‘proud’ of the boys.
