Scary scenes as Nigeria given team bus from HELL after being stranded in Libya

Nigeria were handed poor buses by the Libyan authorities ahead of the return fixture in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game that was supposed to take place against the Northern Africa side on Tuesday night at the Benina Martyrs Stadium.

Having been stranded in the airport for hours, a bus not befitting to transport players was handed to the Nigerian contingent to convey them to a hotel but they rejected it.

Recounting their experience on X, the Super Eagles Vice-captain and former Watford defender William Troost-Ekong revealed that they had their flight diverted by the Libyan government.

Upon touching down, they were denied admittance into any hotel based on the order of the Libyan government, forcing the players to sleep in the airport.

Due to the situation, Troost-Ekong declared that they were not going to prosecute the game and would return to Nigeria for safety purposes.

The genesis of this debacle was before the first leg fixture between Nigeria and Libya on Friday when the Northern Africa side had claimed that they were maltreated by the Nigeria Football Federation who has since then debunked the accusation.

The Nigerian contingents have now left Libya, and it remains to be seen what would be the verdict of the Confederation of African Football.
