Manchester City have kept the pressure on rivals Liverpool at the top of the Premier League after beating Everton 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
The match started off very cagey with very little chances from both teams, Belgian star Jeremy Doku had some great runs on the left wing where he beat two Everton defenders but the final product was just missing.
Manchester City eventually took the lead in the 71st minute after a corner from Julian Alvarez was not dealt with properly by the scrambling Everton defence, the ball eventually finding its way into Erling Haaland who smashed it home past Jordan Pickford.
City got their second in the 85th minute when Kevin De Bruyne slipped it through to Erling Haaland who ran through one on one with Jarrad Branthwaite.
He then got bullied by the Norwegian striker, Haaland slotted the ball past the defenceless Jordan Pickford to seal a vital win for the Citizens.
Liverpool have already reagined spot as they welcomed Burnley to Anfield at 3pm but Jurgen Klopp’s side have played a game more than City.

Another said: “Anyone seen Branthwaite after Haaland sent him to another dimension”
Do you think Erling Haaland is the best striker in the world or is Harry Kane?
