A football writer was REFUSED entry into Qatar’s Al-Rayyan Stadium after wearing a ‘rainbow’ t-shirt in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

Qatar has many strict rules in their country which prohibit any relationship with two of the same sex, because of this many stars and pundits have come out in support of the LGBTQ+ community including BBC pundit and former player Alex Scott.

Harry Kane was set to wear the rainbow love heart captains armband but had to withdraw due to possible sanctions from FIFA and Qatar.

Grant Wahl was on his way into the Al-Rayyan Stadium to watch and report on USA v Wales but it did not go to plan for him.

Security forcibly removed Grant Wahl’s phone and refused to return it for 25 minutes.

The angry security guards were heard saying “You have to change your shirt.” and “It’s not allowed.”

After a lengthy stand-off, the football writer was allowed through and was told by security that requesting to remove the shirt was for “his protection by other fans”.
