Fans fuming after Euro 2024 winner misses out on team of tournament

Fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the omission of Spain right back, Dani Carvajal from the Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament.

Kyle Walker was preferred over the Real Madrid star for the right-back position, joining his Manchester City teammate Manuel Akanji in the defensive lineup.

Arsenal centre back William Saliba and Chelsea left back Marc Cucurella finished off the back line, with many fans left wondering why Madrid right-back Carvajal wasn’t included alongside his teammate.

Walker played every single minute for England as they made their way to the final of the tournament, where they lost to Luis de la Fuente’s Spain side.

Carvajal on the other hand missed two games, the first being against Albania in the final match day of the group stages, and the other against France in the semifinal, having been sent off against Germany in the previous round.

Unlike Walker, he was able to muster a goal involvement in the competition, which was his goal in Spain’s opening game against Croatia, and a host of irate fans feel he has done enough to be named in the Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament.

Player of the tournament, Rodri, with his Spanish teammates Dani Olmo and Fabián Ruizwere made up the midfield, while the trio of Jamal Musiala, Nico Williams, and Lamine Yamal completed the lineup.
