Man United AGREE terms with Chelsea’s Mason Mount

Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount, and are expected to win the race for his signature this summer.

According to reports, bosses at Stamford Bridge are looking at a major overhaul of their squad, following massive expenditure last summer and their worst Premier League season to date.

It is said that the club are not looking at holding on to players whose contracts are coming to an end, a group which Mount finds himself falling into. Despite this, it is said that Chelsea’s new boss, Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep their academy star at the club.

A number of sides have shown interest in the English midfielder, with Chelsea offering him to Atletico Madrid as part of a swap deal for Joao Felix, and Arsenal also reported to be in the running for his signature.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been said to be monitoring Mount’s situation as his contract draws to a close.

Reports have now emerged that it is in fact Erik ten Hag’s Man United that are looking to be the favourites to snatch Mount away from Stamford Bridge. It is said that the club have agreed personal terms with Mount, although a transfer fee has not been agreed with Chelsea.

It has been suggested that the West London club will demand at least £60 million if they are to let go of the 24-year-old midfielder, a fee which ten Hag may well be prepared to stretch to in order to diversify his midfield.

The United boss reportedly admires Mount’s pressing, athleticism and versatility in the middle, which are though to be the main factors in his decision to make the pursuit of the England midfielder one of the club’s priorities this summer.

The Red Devils are also be tipped to be focusing heavily on bringing Tottenham hitman Harry Kane to Old Trafford, in a bid to strengthen their scoring ability in the final third. Whether or not ten Hag’s transfer campaign goes to plan remains to be seen in the following weeks!
