Kevin De Bruyne’s 70-acre Belgian home ‘raided’ by burglars in high-profile heist

In a shocking turn of events, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne and his family have become the latest victims of a high-profile burglary at their Belgian residence.

The incident occurred on a Saturday evening, where burglars broke into the footballer’s home, leaving chaos in their wake.

Fortunately, neither De Bruyne nor his wife and three children were present during the break-in.

While details surrounding the incident are still emerging, it is reported that valuable items, including jewellery, were stolen.

Belgian news outlet HLN reported that the burglars used a stepladder to gain access to the first floor of De Bruyne’s property between 4 pm and 9 pm on the fateful Saturday.

The perpetrators left the house in disarray, and it is yet to be determined the full extent of the losses suffered by the De Bruyne family.

An official from the local prosecutor’s office stated, “Everything was turned upside down, so it is not yet entirely clear what the exact disadvantage is. But at first glance, it appears that mainly jewellery has been stolen.”

The investigation into the burglary is currently ongoing, with law enforcement officials working to ascertain the identity of the perpetrators.

The forensic laboratory has been deployed to the scene for a trace investigation, and a comprehensive camera and neighborhood inquiry are set to follow.

As of now, it remains unclear who is behind the burglary, and authorities are leaving no stone unturned to bring those responsible to justice.

Curiously, De Bruyne missed Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium due to injury, providing a potential window of opportunity for the burglars.

The footballer had re-injured his hamstring earlier in the season, preventing him from participating in the opening night of the Premier League. Despite the setback, he had travelled with the team to Saudi Arabia on the night of the break-in.

The De Bruyne family often uses their Belgian home when visiting the country but primarily resides in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

In 2015, the footballer acquired a sprawling 70-acre property in Belgium, where he subsequently built a luxurious villa made from natural white stone.

The villa, completed in February 2019, boasts amenities such as a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and a basketball court, making it a serene retreat for the family.

As the investigation continues, the focus remains on identifying the perpetrators and understanding the full extent of the losses incurred by the De Bruyne family.
