37 year-old Tom Huddlestone makes history as United beat rivals City in U21 derby

Tom Huddlestone made history tonight as Manchester United U21 beat arch-rivals Manchester City in the Premier League 2.

Man United beat their noisy neighbours 2-1 thanks to the oldest player on the pitch.

Ethan Wheatley opened the scoring for the Red Devils followed by a goal from 37 year-old Tom Huddlestone to make it 2-0 to the Reds.

However, the Citizens did pull one back but it wasn’t enough to grab a result.

Manchester City are now sitting afoot of the table with rivals United sitting in 10th after the result.

Just a quick reminder, Tom Huddlestone scored the winner in the derby and his professional debut came in 2003, before any player on the pitch was even born, CRAZY!

The player-coach has been at Manchester United since 2022 but enjoyed long spells at Hull City, Tottenham Hotspur and Derby County in his career which spans from 2002.

37 year-old Tom Huddlestone became the oldest player ever to score in an under 21 match.

With the Manchester Derby coming up in the senior Premier League and the form United have recently found, many will be edging their bets on the Red Devils to win!
