Liverpool and Croatia defender Dejan Lovren is set to return to Premier League action this weekend for the visit of Arsenal to Anfield. A persistent knee injury had kept the center back sidelined for the last 3 matches.
Lovren has been in Germany receiving specialist treatment on the problem and returned to training with the rest of the Liverpool squad at Melwood, he posted on social media that it was ‘good to be back’. A sentiment that is likely to be shared by the Liverpool faithful too.
Jurgen Klopp continued with Lucas Leiva filling in at the back last time out against Leicester following his impressive display when Tottenham were defeated at Anfield, however the Brazilian was given the runaround at the King Power Stadium by Jamie Vardy.
Saturday’s evening kick off against Arsenal at Anfield means even more to the hosts now as they look to keep their dreams of a top 4 finish alive against fellow challengers Arsenal. They will no doubt be hopeful that the natural defensive instincts of Lovren can help to keep the masterful Alexis Sanchez quiet.
